A/C froze up

Talk about a project! So the A/C compressor froze up on the car's journey to it's new home.

I get mixed feedback about what to replace. the latest I hear is the compressor, orifice and dryer/reciever.

Any other suggestions?

TIA!

I would guess the orifice/ schrader valve could be clogged. Or internally the compressor is worn. See what TH throws out there.

That sounds about right.
You will also need to have it vacuumed and flushed or checked to ensure there is no debris or contaminated oil in the system before installing the new components.
I would probably take it to an AC tech to make sure it is cleaned and repaired properly or you may run into more trouble down the road.

Re: A/C froze up

Thanks TH. I see a lot of these "kits" on Ebay. On a budget right now, and with this AZ heat, you get the drift.
