visor mirror light issue

my visor mirror lights stay on because the mirror part doesn't close all the way and so right now i have taped it down so it doesn't kill my battery. anyone have an idea about how i can get the light to stay off?

If yours has the cloth flap type cover like my '81 did, I had the same problem. My temporary solution was to glue a piece of plastic, like from an old credit card or ID to the cover where it contacts the button on the visor until you can replace the whole visor. I saw some replacements on eBay if you wanna go that route.

I just replaced both of mine cause I had the same problem. I bought a pair from mustang resto but they don't have the light. I was unable to find a good pair with the mirror and light.

thanks guys for the advice. i really needes some because the tap looks really tacky
