October issue of 5.0 Mustang & SF

There's a good article in the magazine comparing the bolt on performance between a fox 5.0/New Edge/S197 and a new coyote. I was completely surprised to see the fox only netted an additional 15whp after a k&n cai, 70mm bbk tb, 2.5" bbk exhaust and a tune. I figured the car would net at least a 10% increase, especially with all the mods being based solely on air flow.

Yes, BUT don't be to put off by that. Most of those are "supporting mods" and when you go ahead with things like heads, cam, and intake, they will enable those parts to produce even more HP. The engines that pick up the most power with those mods are just the ones that are restricted in those areas the most to begin with.

What would have been nice is the price per Hp gained as well. It would have been a legitimate comparison since they used the same brand on each part.
