8.8 rear end

Ive found a local guy selling an 8.8 out if a mid 80s truck. Its a 31 inch spline posi rear. I was wondering what all i would need to mount it up to my 4cyl fox on its way to a 5.0 swap

Re: 8.8 rear end

That rear end will not fit your car. Its mounted differently and is to wide regardless of how its mounted.
Easier to find one out of a wrecked 50 mustang and swap it in.

I know you can cut them down, was just wondering if it'd be worth it for a $100 rear end, thanks

If you have the proper tools and knowledge, yes it is worth it.

Re: 8.8 rear end

Yes with the right tools you could cut it down but the next problem you will face is the center section does not have the mounts or ears for the upper control arms nor does it have mounts for lower control arms. With some work though and lots of time it could be done.

You're welcome.

That one is just a case of "Yes you can do it, but no you shouldn't because of the amount of labor and modifications it would take".
