I was curious if you could get any year model Stang to run in the lower 11s on a 3kish budget. This isn't a personal concern that I'm trying to fulfill, it's more pointed at since you could get an import to do that, and it's sad to say that I don't think I could think up what a Stang could do to pull that, but I know you guy are smarter than me so any insight?

It all depends in how you build it. But not really if done right, and reliable. Maybe a brand new stang that is almost 12 sec capable bone stock?

I don't know which imports you are speaking of, but generally speaking a mustang is gonna be cheaper to build than an import. The parts are way more competitive and plentiful, which makes them cheaper.

Yea mustangs are cheap to build. I know if you got a new 5.0 it would only take 7-8k to easily do 10's I'd think. Try getting an import to 600+ HP at the wheels for 8K

What import can run 10's with 3k in mods??

I'm curious as to what import only costs 3k to run 10s or 11s "safely". If they do I can't see how the motor would last very long.

Lmao.. Really.. That's crazy I don't see an import making big numbers on 3k budget unless it's an evo or wrx adding supporting mods, they are rare exceptions other than that even if you get a lil micro machine like a s2000. And add a turbo kit o' sh*t never mind that's like 3500 there went that budget. The lil cars can fly if built right but the full build can easily go north of 15k, that being said I will keep loving stangs... and the sound of nostalgia!!

I dont see 3k getting an import into the 11s. I was a dsm guy before i got my stang and just a front mount intercooler for my 91 talon ran me 1500 and a bigger turbo capable of making enough boost to get you into the 11s add another 800-1500 dollars. Theres 3k with no supporting mods or a tune, you might run a 12 once but youl be getting towed home

Sure, Fox Body Mustang + Nitrous + a little tuning = 11's or lower for 3k or less.
Just search You Tube, there are vids of them doing just that.
