Really? What could be wrong with it it gets into gear fine and stays in gear? I was thinking something wrong with throttle could it be that? And if it was the tranny why would it go away?

Or could it be the clutch?

So are you saying the clutch was slipping or the engine would not rev up?

No it revs it just feel like the clutch is dragging when it is out all the way like it is still engaged

It's probably slipping and needs to be replaced or adjusted at the least.

Is there a reason why this has only happened only when i was coming off the highway and never before? And should i just replace it or get it adjusted

It was probably hot from slipping on the highway.
Try adjusting it first, just lift up the clutch pedal with your toes, if it clicks then it was out of adjustment.
