Well it's official, I bought the 87' GT and drove it home today. And just my luck it happens to be Hot August Nights weekend ( a local annual car show). See pictures in my album

Yea yes that homemade intake is coming off asap. I actually think its doing more harm than good because the air filter is so small i think its choking the engine at higher rpm. It feels like there just isnt as much power as there should be when the engine needs it. Hit 3k rpm and it just feels, not right

Ordered a new door handle and shifter. Next week ill put a new cool air intake on it. Getting quotes on paint too, cheapest so far is $4k ugh. Oh well it would be money well spent

Paint and bodywork is very labor intensive, thus the reason for the high prices.
Be careful of low ball estimators as they are probably leaving out some important procedures/steps for the paint job.

Fortunately most of the body work needed is bolt on stuff. But ya the paint will hurt the pocket book because i want show room quality and plenty if clear

Study up, buy some books and equipment and do it yourself if you have a shop to work in?

You will likely spend less than the 4k and have the knowledge and equipment left over for future use.

Nice car! I see what you mean about the dryer tube, or whatever that is, intake. Keep us posted with the project. Paint, bodywork and mods.

Re: Officially mine, and I feel like a school girl on prom night

Finally got a new intake. I was able to tell a difference almost instantly. Everything just ran smoother and no more choked feeling at higher RPM's.
