GT40

Just picked this up. GT40 upper and lower with BBK 70 mm throttle body with egr spacer with 76 mm MAF calibrated for 24lb injectors and 24lb injectors. Might be getting a 93 cobra intake also. Just got to see which one I'm going to stay with

If I port it then I'll have to do the heads right

you wanna do the heads anyways. all these parts will only net you minimum gains with the restrictive stock heads.

Re: GT40

If you want looks use the GT40, if you are after performance go with the Cobra as it can be ported to provide considerably more power. Look up TMoss Porting, they used to have some good info on them and they can port them for you if you need them to.

Pair the ported Cobra with the new AFR 165 Renegade heads and you will be looking at possibly a 100+ HP increase. Add a camshaft to take advantage of the extra air flow and you are looking at even more power.

this was on a sticky on another forum i use. thats why i thought that.

INTAKE FLOW CHART:

Always a good refrence to have, just a note the '93 Cobra intake listed is for a real '93 Cobra intake and pre '03 Ford racing intake. The china made ones after '03 and current do not flow has good due to casting issues and should be about what the explorer GT40 flows or pretty close.

Stock 5.0. intake about 135-140 CFMs

GT40 Tubular/ Rea. '93 Cobra & pre '03 FRPP Cobra 195- 200 CFMs

GT40 Explorer & Chinese FRPP Cobra 170-180 CFMs

Trick flow aftermarket intake will flow 200-210 cfms

Do y'all know anything about this it seems like a good deal but I'm not sure if it flows better than my current ported gt40.

Yep, It's a pretty good deal, had I found something like that before I got my Edelbrock Victor 5.0 I would have bought it for sure.

That would work well with a boosted or high rpm engine and I bet it will outflow your GT40 by quite a bit.

Would this require a retune? I would guess to take full advantage of the extra air.

Probably as it will move a lot more air than what you have.
Now's the time to get that PMS you've always wanted.

It also gives you your own PMS to play with when your significant other is having hers.

Haha.. Yeah I love stangs. Wish I could have kept them all. But I always trade up or make $$. I got offered 10k for this one and just can't let it go.. But it is tempting cause I could build a boosted 408 coupe with the $$. Love my gt though!
