I know it's been a while, the car looks good! I like the staggered wheel combo. How do you like the V3.. That's self lubricated right? I'm interested to see some numbers. I'm about to undertake the next step in my project and interested in the B3 also.

Thanks I appreciate it! I tried to have her dynoed but I ran into some fuel issues. I have since sorted itn out, and Installed both boost and AFR gauges. But i havent had a chance to go back. But at 3000 rpms I had 300 tq and 250 hp. But higher up is where it got sketchy. It is internally lubricated; for buying new, its probably the best bang for your buck. I love it, and Right now im pushing 4 psi, but you can always up the boost. Just dont forget the supporting parts with more boost lol

I should also mention I did a T-5 swap on her too. I was having too much trouble with the AOD. Im soooo glad I can row the gears myself....lol

Sounds good! I bet it's night and day from what it was before. Yeah, there's a fine line with power on the stock internals.

Yeah for sure. I need to rebuild the rear, and id like to put in either 3.27's or 3.31's while im at it. I got the stock 2.73's in there now. But I want a little better acceleration without going out of the power band too quickely.

Nice! Yeah, 3.55's probably wouldn't be bad either. Just depends on how steep you want to go. I'm keeping my 86 NA for now, I'm thinking of going 4.10's on that one. With the 5 speed it's not too bad.

Yeah I would consider 3.55's as well, depends on what I can get a good deal on. I have 4.10's in my 2000 GT, and for a weekend car they are great. But I didnt like them when she was my daily driver. I worked an hour away from where i lived, and spent almost 100 bucks a week on gas.But as long as I kept it under 2000 rpms I got decent gas mileage. What do you have done to your car?

I got rid of the 2010 and got a new f150 with the 5.0, but part of that deal with the wife was I could get a foxbody, lol! So I got an 86 and so far I've put long tubes with catted x and flowmaster cat back. I've rebuilt and fixed many steering, brakes, wiring and other issues that came with the car and put new tires on it. So now it's a suitable daily driver. I have a mass air conversion kit, 70mm TB and EGR for it as well as a set of GT40 heads, explorer intake, as well as some interior parts waiting to go on. It's a work in progress! But I couldn't pass up a relatively unmolested 86 for $1,400.

---------- Post added at 04:59 AM ---------- Previous post was at 04:58 AM ----------

Gt40p heads, not the gt40's

Sweet! I got my Fox for around 1,800, and it was bone stock with only 94K miles on it. But it did need a little TLC like most 20+ yr old cars lol

And in a side note, I miss my old F-150.........

Yeah, mine still needs some TLC, especially after some punk kids stole the radio out of it and broke up the dash around where the radio was.

Man, that sucks. I dont live in the best of areas, but (knock on wood) everybody that lives around me respects my cars, and generally likes me. I guess thats a good thing! Lol

Yeah, that's nice, we just moved in with relatives due to renting our condo out before we move to the east coast, so unfortunately we're new, lol

Thanks! Hopefully everything goes smooth, I'm trailering the car from El Paso TX to MD, so it should be interesting.

Hahaha right! being stationed in TX where they do emissions testing, I found out my 86 is just old enough to be exempt. Of course I found that out after I bought the catted x pipe, lol! I'm from VA and there's no emissions testing there either.

That's right!

You'll have to post new info after you get the car re dyno'd. I'm interested to hear the numbers!

Will do. Im in the early stages of planning out a 5.4 swap from a friends lightning into my 2000, so the fox has kinda taken a back seat as far as doing anything with it for a bit. But I dunno when my friend will be able to start thats project with me. So if he doesnt have anything solid lined up ij the next few months, I'll probably just focus on the fox again. Lol

Hes looking to put in a completely new turbo and engine in his lightning. His current set up has the stock eaton but its ported, ported heads with blower cams. It dynoed at 540 hp and 570 tq. Im hoping it works out, but if not im gonna re- build the 4.6 and put a Roush charger in it for cheap

i totally agree. Yeah my f-150 was a 94' and I swapped a 351 in that. I wanted a gen 2 lightning, but couldn't find one and ended up with my 2000. So if I can pull this swap off, it would be a dream come true!

The 2v 4.6's are still very capable motors. I had an all stock 2004 that had an upper intake elbow with larger throttle body and a vortec after cooled kit making 11.5 psi that put down 470rwhp. Granted it was a recipe for disaster, but it was a lot of fun!

---------- Post added at 06:11 PM ---------- Previous post was at 06:10 PM ----------

Heck yeah, the best of both worlds, lol!

Nice, that's still a quick street car in my book! Crazy how in the mid 90's a 12-13 sec street car was fast, now we've got 9 sec daily drivers! Haha

If everything works out with the lightning swap you'll have to start a build thread on that.
