Foxbody hatch

Going to look at a fox hatch for my wife. What problem areas should I be looking for guys? I just kinda got lucky with my notch. Picked it up on a whim and it ended up bein in pretty decent shape.

Check the strut towers. Ford is notorious for rotting out there. Also check hatch and door lips as a simple tell take sign of how underneath the car looks.

Look at the torque boxes (where the LCA meets the unibody). This area is weak and known to crack in high mileage and/or abused cars.

Check for leaks and engine parts that have been painted.

all good suggestions. also dont forget to check the floorpans to.

Some people try to hide imperfections and or problems by painting parts of the engine.

Check everything the guys said and ask to put it on a lift somewhere so you can inspect the under body and frame.
