Mystery 5.0!

Let's play a game. Help me find out what this 302 came out of!
Apparently out of a Crown Vic.
Has e6se heads!
Plaque only says "Ford 5.0 Liter".
If you were to look at the engine from the front of the hood open, the throttle body is pointing right.
Has e6se stamped everywhere.
Is really dirty.

ANY GUESSES!?

Those heads were used in mustangs only in 86 and are garbage. Imo some of the worst ford heads ever made. I'm not sure if they used them in other years in crown vics.

So, it's possibly out of an 86 Mustang? Gotcha. I plan on getting rid of them, just wanted to know this engine's history. Lol

well im still not sure. because the intake on an 86 points towards the passenger side. i would pull the numbers off the block to be sure. i believe they are in the starter area.

Re: Mystery 5.0!

If it says "Ford 5.0 Liter", it is probably just a standard 302 used in Ford cars other than the Mustang. Check the firing order.

It could be the difference in roller and non roller. That's why trojan said to check firing order. That will tell the kind of cam. Also has junk heads.

Re: Mystery 5.0!

Okay, so how do I check the firing order? This terrifies me. I'm gonna take a peek at the engine again tomorrow. I think it really is a Vic motor, ha.
