How many hp

I have a almost stock 1990 gt 5.0. 302 ho with cold air intake. How many horses should I be pushing?

The cai is probably worth 1-3hp. Stock is 225 motor. Around 180-185 rwhp.

Okay. I had always heard that the high output meant that the engine had more horsepower than it does cubic inches. Which is 302. So I had always thought u know I had like 305. Lol

Well thanx buddy. 225 still isnt to bad. Not the fastest but I believe it'll still get up n go

yeah, these little machines make great torque though. i forget the exact number but stock they are around 285-295 maybe. that is at the motor.

Yea man. First time I drive mine. It fishtailed and I knew that it could easily come all the way around. Plus the rear end being so light it doesn't take much. I love it.

I'm wanting to do some new stuff to it. I got the cai and turndowns, stage 2 clutch and short throw shifter. Any suggestions

save up for a top end kit. thats gonna be the best hp maker.

but in the mean time the best bang for your buck would be gears imo. check out the "in the beginning" thread in the stickies section for some other good ideas.
