Any advice for a chevy guy looking to convert?

im looking to betray my family heritage of long time chevy owners and purchase a foxbody mustang. I know these are prone to rust.... what other issues should one look for when buying a fox?

from one chevy guy to another. Buy a vette and move on

lol, i love the rustang. but if i had to choose mustang vette, the vette would be it. if i had to choose mustang 99 chevy suburban, 99 suburban would win. but im a truck guy before a muscle car guy. so thats IMO.

do what feels right. i feel funny driving a ford. when im a di hard chevy fan.

Just remember that you're buying a car that's probably 20 years old (15, at least). Rust, drivetrain wear, body damage, etc. Plan on having to do some restoration.

want to buy a 92 with a long list of mods? daily drove it for 2 months this year, I'd depend on it 100%, and still runs solid low 12s when requested :pnoid:

Re: Any advice for a chevy guy looking to convert?

I am in the process of selling my 1985 c10 thats all custom in order to purchase a fox. When I was younger I was never responsible enough to have anything that was fast. I always had an affection towards the foxbody... like i said, i am aware of the issues with rust, surely there are still some gems out there to be had under the 10k price range right?

like i said, im just looking for a stock looking LX, 92 or 93 no sunroof preferrably.

you can find a very clean fox but they cost... in the end you may be better that route however. It all just depends on what you want out of it.

I haven't looking in a while, but a clean fox should be easy to find under 10K.

What? Are you going to deny that foxes are 15 years old? I haven't seen a good one for sale in as long as I can remember.

mark mark... I was just poking at you for noting that the fox doesn't come with an LS1..

don't know where the hostility is coming from though really, you know we're all about blowing smoke round here.
