sputtering Stang!!

I have a 1990 LX 5.0 automatic. Stock except for a cold air intake and flowmasters. A few days ago I noticed when I stepped on the gas either from idle or 50 or 60 mph that the motor starts sputtering. It still gets up to speed but its sputters until I get to the power band. At idle it is the worst. I first thought it was bad gas but now I have a feeling it is a little deeper. Any help is greatly appreciated. Thanks in Advance.

Re: sputtering Stang!!

Best place to start, make sure your spark plug wires are not rubbing against the headers/arcing out - then move on to cap/rotor/plugs (make sure none are fouled out or worn) make sure the connections for each wire are good also

It couldn't hurt to hook a fuel pressure gauge up, either
