Exclamation Fuel pump issues! Can anyone help?

So I am having problems with my fuel pump. I have changed the fuel pump relay but for some reason when I shut the car off the fuel pump stays on; continuously clogging the choke and draining my battery! So I am left with a car that has to have the battery disconnected everytime I stop for longer than 10 minutes. If anyone has any type of advice on what the issue may be please, please, please reply to this post! The car I have is a 1986 5.0 GT hatchback!

Sounds to me like you wired the relay in wrong. Unless this was happeneing before you changed it Im betting it's a bad relay or bad wiring.

your probably using the wrong relay, same thing happened to me, parts counters cannot seem to get the right piece for a late92-93 harness, finally picked up the right part from ford. no more problems.

BTW, you running a carb?
