Stumped ?

I have a question about my radiator , car only has 334 miles on new motor and trans, but when ever I start my car the first heating cycle the water temp goes to 200 degrees then down to 175-180 and holds there . Could this be just the thermostat heating up?

I had a 95 that did the same thing. Change the thermostat or put in a 185 degree stat. If that doesnt help more than likely it has air in the system. Easy fix
