Will a 5.0L 302 from 1979 bolt onto a 86' mustang stadard tranny?

will my 302 from my 79 ltd bolt onto my 86 mustang lx with a 2.3?

No, it won't. The 5.0L (302) V8 engine uses a completely different bellhousing bolt pattern than the 2.3L (140) I-4 engine. If you are considering dropping in the V8, you will need to purchase the bellhousing specifically intended to bolt up to the V8. The manual transmission itself, is also different between the two applications. Although the '79 version was a fairly low ouput version of this engine. If you are looking to increase power output however, you would be well advised to purchase a transmission and rear axle assembly to handle to increased load. These should be readily available if you look in the right places for a reasonable price. Hope this helps.

With a little modification on the 86 mustang it should!! Might have to move the motor mounts.
