My Ford 302 (331) block with girdle?

Hey guys, I have a stock 5.0 block with a two bolt main out of a 1989 Mustang. I was planning on pushing around 375 HP after rebuilding. The block has been bored so that it's a 331. I was considering putting a girdle on the bottom end to make the block a little stronger, so at least I'll have peace of mind. I found this one: http://www.americanmuscle.com/moroso...whatsinboxArea and it says that it was designed for 5.0 blocks. It will still work on my 331, right? Since it was a 5.0 block? What do you think? Thank you.

yes because it was a 302 to begin with only piston bore was changed not the crank bore

With a 375 horse engine, this is overkill...... particularly with a 3.25 stroke. Guys build 347's all the time with out these. This is a 600 HP, 7,500 RPM, tuned-to-slay piece of engineering.

You can't get 331 cu in by boring alone, you'll have to get a stroker kit.. It should work, but ask them if it's compatible with the stroker kit to be sure..

The block can handle 375hp without the girdle. You would be wasting your time and money.
