my 95 vs srt4

Can anyone tell me a list of price-reasonable engine mods / tunes I could get to make my 95 gt faster than a lightly modded srt4

What are you looking to spend? The best way to make power is a heads, cam and intake swap. The 94-95 computers dont respond as well to mods like that so you may also need to factor a tune into your budget

I'm not looking for a street race build, alls I know is my friend has one that's all stock and we made plans this summer to put them on a track and see how they'd do and I wanna be able to beat him lol. I had messed around with some before on the highway and I just get annhilated pretty much hah. I have some bolt on's and a 3.73 gear, I was just looking into going in a bit deeper and putting some actual money in my car

I wouldnt be adding more power if your trans is already taking a dump. Spend that money on your transmission first and just let the srt4 guy go for now, you have already won the war in my opinion. I dont care how fast it is or how many letters and numbers are on the end of it, its still a dodge neon and looks extremely girly

A good h/c/i kit for a 5.0 will run about 2500 or so with new parts. Look around and see what you can find. My cousin picked up a b303 cam with 50 miles on it for $50 and i got a gt40 upper and lower for 120

Honestly I've outrun the one and only srt4 I've ever raced and all I have is mild bolt-ons. I put one length on him from a dig and a 20 roll. But like the others said, if your trans is dying, replace it or rebuild it. T56 swap would be nice, but expensive.

I've ran a tuned srt-4 at both the track and a private location with a long stretch of road. My only mods were long tubes, tb and CAI, stock 3.08 gears, 5 speed and a bit of driver skill.

Anyways, morale of the story is that you still make more power then they do and they should only start pulling you once you get into 4th gear...

I yanked the guy every time. From a roll on at 40 with giving him the jump and from a stop (the strip) with him getting the hit.

They have serious potential to BE fast. But the same can be said with the 5.0's.

Let us know how it goes.

And if you want extra insurance, throw on a 100 shot of nitrous and dial back the timing a bit.

Well I think u should try lighting up the load meaning drop some car pounds in the body, suspension, and interior carbon fiber this aluminum that take back seats and spear tire out
Ultimately that what the lame imports and cute lil SRT 4 s' have on us muscle car guys and engine swap up to 347, 351, 427 ... You can always bore out as well but u can find engines from summit and JEGS for ok prices I would not go bigger then a 351 W block because u can do just fine with a S/C or turbo set up done the rite way drop as much cast iron as possible... As soon as I finished doing this to my 84 with 351 W turbo pushing 660 hp look for it on YouTube it will say ... 84 fox 666 ... Hopefully it dose what I'm hopping it will do send them imports to hell lol good hunting mustang owners
