3g Alt Upgrade - Mustang Evolution

3g Alt Upgrade

So I planning on doing the 3G upgrade but I'm having trouble with this:
You will need to remove the factory tape from the harness to expose the union of the two 10 gauge wires which are black with an orange stripe. This D shaped plug with the two large 10 gauge wires also has a very small white with black stripe wire. This wire will be cut off the terminal and used on the 3G in a different location. Once the location of the 10g wire has been found, cut the union and tape or use a butt join to cover up the end of the 10 gauge wire. This wire will still have power since we will need to leave the wire hooked up at the starter solenoid due to the voltage sensing wire that shares the fuse link. This is what your new alternator harness will consist of:

It's might be a dumb question but I don't want to mess something up what do I do with the black with orange stripe wire.?
And what do I do with the old d shape adapter?
I pulled the alt w/ tge d shape adapter off the 94 mustang gt as well
Can someone please clarify this for me pls

I believe your link says to leave the d shaped connector alone however you have to modify the 10g wires at the union for the 3g alt. Hang in there man, im sure some one else can help to just give it a few hours

I ain't sure bout the rest but i do no u have to run a 4g wire from battery to alt.

Wow man thats got me a little confused and im pretty good with wiring. Its a difficult without seeing it in person but from what i got from that you are going to cut the black and orange wire and tape it off, leaving it hooked up to the starter solenoid. Im not sure about the d shaped connector. Il do some research on it and get back to you. Id like to know how to do it myself

Ok heres what you need to do. Forget the black/orange wire that goes to the stock alternator, tape them out of the way, but leave the other end attached to the starter solenoid. The reason is there is a yellow/white wire that connects with them through a fuse link to measure any voltage drop. You are going to need a 4ga to 6ga wire with a ring terminal on one end which will get connected to the power stud on the 3g alternator. The other end MUST go to a fuse, 125 amp seems to be whats recommended. Do not skip out on the fuse, if the alternator ever shorts out it will fry all kinds of stuff and you will get to meet the fire department. Another 4ga or 6ga wire goes from the other side of the fuse to the positive battery terminal. That takes care of the that part but im still not sure about the stator wire, the black/white one.
