As far as I know, besides using the correct bellhousing on, its the same. And you can swap them.

As far as I know they are. Im sure a search on google could tell you the specifics of each, and you can compare them to know for sure

I've never herd of anyone using any of the Chevy versions in a Mustang(not saying it hasn't been done) I'm guessing there's a reason that makes it tough or not worth it.. I'd be interested in seeing what you guys find..
