Thread locker confusion.

Hey guys, as I've posted recently Im replacing clutch etc. for my first time. Spent a frustrating hour at O'rieley today after waiting 2 days for my 'parts' to come only to find out that not a single one was correct. Looked through their entire digital inventory to find out they don't carry some of it. Long story short, I'm a bit annoyed and need some help. What thread locker do I need Minimum for this rebuild. Flywheel had red threadlocker on it, so did the driveshaft?? Various shifter bolts had blue (also can I refill my trans through the shifter plate? I bought Highstrength red and the blue kind which is serviceable the red isnt and require heating of 500 degrees for seperation (it didn't when I removed my flywheel.... Money is really tight I cant afford anything I dont need.

Yes, you can fill the trans through the shifter plate. Just make sure car is level and the top hole on the side of the trans is open... And when it starts to come out of that hole it should be full.

Not sure about thread locker stuff, but I need the info too as I will be replacing flywheel soon. The car wouldn't start and come to find out it looks like the ring gear on my flywheel separated and it just spins while flywheel doesn't.

Also, I wouldn't trust the oreiley counter man... Better off with a mustang website that specializes in this stuff like or latemodelresto.

Your trans takes 3qts of ATF dex/merc auto fluid and you can fill it up through the shifter. As dream stated either thread locker will work but IMO I would use the blue for the shifter.

90 GT bone stock down to the air filter, awaiting restoration.
