Congratulations on getting back on the Pony! Hope your little girl is doing great. As far as mods, I'll let other more experienced members steer you in the right direction.

Finish the exhaust. Get some LT's (Long tube headers) and a catless H or X pipe.

Gears are a good upgrade and a shorty shifter.

If its got a shift kit already, some 373's or 410's would be a great upgrade.

Check the production month on the inside of the door. Once the car turns 25 you dont have to pass emissions anymore. If your current inspection sticker goes to or past the priduction month you can run a offroad exhuast system. I recommend X pipes for better power gains even though I like the way the H sounds better. Also when you dont have to pass emissions anymore you can delete the smog pump.

Congratulations on deciding to get back into a Mustang! An 88GT is a nice car to buy. I would know because I have one. As a matter of fact... ours is for sale.

Best of all, it's a 5-speed car. We're the second owner & the car has just under 29K miles. It is black with gray interior.

Here is a link to a thread with a number of inside / outside / engine bay pictures & even a short video. PM if you are interested in more information.

Our unmolested 88GT for sale.

Regardless of which car you buy, enjoy your car & have fun modding it!

Unless its a Cali car, the 88s have a speed density system so don't go messing with the inlet side unless you convert to a MAF setup which is actually pretty easy to do.

For a 5.0 automatic you do:

-Headers
-Full exhaust
-Subframes
-4.10 gears
-Cold air (after maf conversion)
-Pullies
-Suspension and wheels/tires

Then work on the motor. Really no matter what you do without some serious weight reduction or a head/intake combo or a power adder the car will never be fast. The stock heads and intakes on the 5.0s minus the Cobras were really THAT bad.

Holy S that is a clean fox... its worth every penny but you are going to HAVE to wait for the right buyer since there are so many other clean newer mustangs out there that will go faster... But man you NEVER see one like that anymore. GLWS.

I love the red color. I don't usually care for red cars. One of the guys I know around here has a really nice red GT very similar to yours. I think I'm changing my mind about the color red.

I dunno I think it is worth the $12k to someone like, just turning 40 and had one growing up. A good condition, straight, no rust fox is hard enough to find unmolested, this one is basically new.

I agree that it is worth it to some, but for someone like me, i just can't see the 12k. I would happily pay that if I was older and didn't want to work on a car, but I figure most that look into getting a fox, want to rebuild it to their specifications and enjoy working on it.
