Csn-95 cobra clone/fakes

Ever since I was a wee-lad I always dreamed of having a 03 cobra. But Long story short I got a 94 gt convertible. Now I know I'm going to get attacked by some here but I want to make it a cobra clone. I'm not looking for Barett Jackson quality stuff but just so I feel I am a cobra owner. How bad is it to do this? In terms of what you may think if you found out it was fake? I just don't want to look like a ****** canoe.

Honestly it's your car. Do what you will. All I'm gonna say is if you do make it a cobra clone either s/c it or put a cobra motor in it

That's true, I know how ppl frown upon it, I was thinking trick flow air intake, gt-40 heads, and a stage 2 cam instead

+1 to me the majority of what makes a cobra is the heart, the engine. Putting badges and emblems won't make it a cobra, but a motor swap is the closest thing that will. This is my opinion, but if you do end up doing it, do it the right way and be proud.

You have to drive not us.. Clones, badging whatever, just don't claim it as a real Cobra.
My buddy has one and it looks better then 90% of the real Cobras(94-95) he'll be the first to tell you it's a GT at heart

Like others have said you can add the body parts but not badges. A cobra engine would make it a very close clone as well

As long as it mobs like a Cobra, i wouldnt worry about it

As for looks, go w/ the obvious cobra front bumper, some OE style cobra headlights, badges, and since you have a convertible, go with an overhead 3rd brake light bar/ roll bar. And despite the fact that the 5.0 cobras didnt come with them, you can go for a "COBRA" rear bumper. I think they look alot better.

Mods wise, I would definitly just go for aftermarket H/C/I, will net you a whole lot more rwhp than going for Cobra upgrades.

Fobras really are a mystery to me. To me its much more impressive to have a fast GT than a Cobra, also you can sneak up on ppl that way hehe.

I understand the Cobra bumper because that looks a million times better but besides that... just leave it a GT and roll as a GT proudly. Make it move out "like a Cobra" or better than a Cobra for sure and that is stupid easy on a 5.0 motor. Anyone who knows Cobras, especially 5.0 Cobras can spot a fake almost immediately anyway. With the 5.0s there are a few things almost nobody ever gets right like the Crabclaw wing and no light in the decklid for example. Or 2 seconds to check the VIN for the D in the 8th spot.

please do not do this, you can put all the bumpers, etc on the cr but simply DO NOT put cobra badges or cobra lettering on the car. Its not a cobra, it will never be one. You will CONSTANTLY get crap from owners who know about the car (and those are the only ones who actually even give a crap about cobra vs gt anyway most dont even know)

it sounds like a great plant but its ends up horribly, enjoy the car, make it look great.... there is no need to stick on badges to try and make it feel like something it will never be. Since when does a cobra badge look better than a running pony.... its just a matter of what it represents.

While i dont really mind people badging gt's as cobras, other mustangs won't take you seriously if you claim and badge your gt as a cobra.

well thats not a cobra clone lol. I say do the body/exterior minus the badges. And upgrade the engine/suspension/etc

Personally I hate badges on any of my cars and try to remove them anyway. PO of my 89 repainted and stuck 5.0 badges on to high on fender with some glue/tape stronger then mankind an i cant get them off for the life of me on this car lol.

You can make it a clone all you want. But you won't own a cobra. I could put cobra badges on the side of my mach 1, but that would be a lie too. I would love to find mach 1 side badges tho...

These are the kind of dumbasses who get their asses handed to them on a regular basis. Like I said I'd rather not be taken seriously by someone which happens constantly with my 4.6L badged SN95. My car doesn't set the world on fire but its at least as fast as my bolt on 95 Cobra was and pulls harder up top.
