Shocks

I just pulled an 8.8 rear end from a 90 model mustang to put in my 91, on the new rear end there was the big shocks that go from the axle to the chasi and it also had two shocks going from the axle to the frame visible in the fender well what do these shocks do and does anyone know where I can get replacements for these?

They are called quad shocks. They are to help control wheel hop. I know kyb make some replacement ones. Any parts store should be able to get them. They are kinda pricey though. I think I paid around a hundred for a pair and those were the cheaper ones. There are a couple other companies that make replacement ones I just can't remember the other brands right now.

use the money for new quadshocks and get atleast new stiff aftermarket lower control arms and just take the quad shocks off is another option.

will also allow for larger rear tires to be used without the quad shocks.
