Just got off Dyno

Got the Mustang ready for this crapy gasoline they are selling us here in Idaho... I hate it. 10% ethanol sucks at 91 octane. I didn't mind it when it was 93 octane but I figured since the summers get well over 100• F for many days in a row and this sh** fuel. I would detune it!!!... 570 RWHP! Not bad, I guess. Looking for 700 mark but I will probably need a different cam and work my heads for that #! #Chevron sucks!!!

I don't think so. It was actually SALEEN/ VORTECH. And the holly copied it. I think the vortech out horse powers the holly and the holly out torques the vortech. But with my 94 octane tune I made 612 HP and 700 ft:tq

That's still good numbers. I had the same battle in El Paso as the highest octane at the pumps was 91.

Nice numbers thats about what im looking for to get into the 9's and then once I get there I plan to crank the combo for low 9's or possible 8's.

Yeah my cam sucks I run out of air at about 5300 rpm's and I have the first set of twisted wedge heads with absolutely no work... So I could easily do some work on the heads and put a different cam in and put a 76 or 78 mm turbo and get to 750 pretty easily!!!!

Auto all the way!!! I have bad knees so no manual for me. Also I find auto cars hook better anyway so I do plan to run an auto. Last thing I wana do is build another 600hp car and have to stand on the clutch to change gears, nightmare!!

I would think with a little more aggressive cam should easily give me on a NA car an extra 40 hp and to really open up the heads and CNC. Them should also give me about 75 NA HP and even if I use the 14-15 lbs of boost that is acceptable for pump gas I should gain at least 100+ hp don't you guys think so???? The cam I have is even less than a stocker. Lunati, I believe, misunderstood what I was doing , road race not auto cross!

I don't know the cam specs

I would think opening up the heads and changing cam profiles, especially is your current cam is less than stock, you should easily see 100 HP increase.

Have to be careful not to hurt your performing RPM range when you switch cams or else your car could actually hurt performance and slow down. I guess what im trying to say is get a cam for the proper rpm range. Keep in mind that Centri chargers add 1000-1200 peek rpm with a proper cam.

And if your looking for serious porting experience check out FoxLakeRacing.

Agreed, if you want your car to go at all fast in a straight line the automatic is king. I plan on road racing mine so stick is staying in there but if I get another Mustang... it might very well be a 2004 GT automatic with the 4r75w already in there or even a 2004 Mach 1 automatic if I can find one.

IMO, at the 550whp level, one should be strongly considering going to an automatic unless you are setting the car up for cornering.

For the OP, I'd look at getting a custom grind for your combo if you aren't happy with your cam. Ed Curtis is the most well known and always has good reviews. FlowTech Induction
