Need cheaper cowl lol

Ive been looking around for a cowl hood (2 or 3") Via craigslist, eBay, late model, google shopping, jegs, summit etc. and I'd really like to have a fiberglass bolt on, the places ive been looking have all been over $500! I know I may sound petty but most of these hoods are more than what I paid for my car! lol. Anybody know of a good place to look? Or should I stop being cheap? Lol

Stop being cheap! If you cheap-out and buy some low-quality hood or paint job you'll just spend more money fixing it than you would of just buying quality parts and service.

Thats how much they cost. And stay the hell away from ebay hoods. A cheap hood will at best cost you MORE to install because of fit issues and prepwork. At worst it'll fly up on you on the highway and wreck your car and potentially cause you to wreck. The least expensive good hoods I've seen are from design concepts. You still need to pay for shipping and paint too. Figure $1k to get the hood/shipping and paint/prepwork. If you only paid $500 for the car there is probably other stuff you should be doing tho

Hey checked out that design concepts and it was like 289 for a 3" cowl! Idk whether it's a bolt on, looks like it is though. Thanks Scott! Appreciate the help and ya the car has needed a lot more than just a hood lol

It might be a pin down hood so double check before you order anything. Again, figure $150-$200 to ship it and then another $300-$500 for paint so you still are close to a grand. Plz don't roll around with a white hood. There is some ****** in an Aztec Gold Sn95 in my neighborhood who has been rolling around with an unpainted white cowl hood for a few months now... IMO if you can't afford the paint don't even buy the hood because you look like a tool ricer.

I for one actually like the unpainted hood in a way. But they do look better painted, obviously.

Your father is right. I'm a body man/painter, and do everything to the body BEFORE you paint. Anything after leaves the possibility of the color looking like a different shade.
