5.0 build progress

Just got back home from basic training Monday. Decided to do a little part shopping for the build. Started looking around for turbos here is why I bought for the build. Turbo is a Godspeed t67 and cxracing intercooler kit.

The hellion kits are nice. I'm piecing together a nice turbo set up myself instead of buying a cheap kit don't have money for a hellion lol. I'm staying with a c4 automatic trans brake value body.

The turbo was 328 the intercooler kit was 529 all I need left is turbo manifolds wastegate and oil return lines. It's gonna be right around 1600-1800.

I'm wanting at least 450 rwhp 460 rwtq at 15lbs of boost.

15psi is too much for the 302 production block, from 6 - 10 psi would make you happy. Go with 15psi or more only if you have the 351w, world, dart or boss 302 block. What you have for tuning?

No, if he's running a bone stock longblock he'll need to cram more air into those junk E7 heads to make them produce. All depends on the combo.

The intercooler you got is ok, that turbo... it is a garbage Chinese turbo and that particular brand has documented issues. You have been warned.

It's not bone stock at all. I've got cam gt40 heads ported values springs retainers gt40 intake ported. I know with people with the same turbo and been doing fine with there's and I've got a holly efi stand alone I'm using.

They have balance issues as do most chinese turbos. It could be fine, it could fly apart and puke its internals right into your intake. The least expensive turbo I would buy would be a MP70 honestly...

I'm sure you are not going to sell it and buy a better turbo and just run it. I wish you the best of luck but I will not be surprised if I see a "what do I need for a rebuild?" post by you in a few months...

I have the garbage Chinese turbo on my setup without any problems so far. With 8psi the power is amazing using gt40 heads and intake. 15 psi is more power than the production block can handle even using the best forged internals on the market. You can use 42 or 60 injector, 340 aeromotive fuel pump, blow through maf, one step colder plugs, new o2 sensor, wideband, 17 -21 total timing and upgrade the brakes That's just my recommendation. Good luck!
