Heads and intake. If he's on a budget, get some gt40s and have them clean up. If he's not, TF top end kit.

All the "bolt ons" gears, the TFS kit and a tune will make a really really fun fox that'll go way faster than anything else at its power level. Figure around 310-320 rwhp with that setup...

How are you making 1200 to the tires? Setup/trans/susp?

LS motors have a lot of potential but I'm pretty sure we are just dealing with an Internet thug here.

To the original poster. The pushrod 5.0s are not junk. There's a reason they were kept for 14 years. THEY WORKED! With bolt ons and some good heads and Intake, that thing will be a badass car to drive.

He says he has dyno sheets... I still say prove it. And if he does then more power to him, have fun running it on the street even if it is technically street legal. Not at THAT power level. Most ppl running super huge power on a turbo have 2 or 3 tunes loaded. 1 for street, 1 for street beatdown and 1 for race gas at the track. Also at that power level it isn't "just throw a LS1 in there", its "throw a holy ****ing **** built motor in there that bears little/no resemblence to anything it had when stock".

Original poster asked for a weekend warrior idea, not a engine swap drag car... Again, all the bolt ons, TFS top end kit and a tune... OR go to a JY and grab a set of Explorer heads/intake, leave the stock GT cam in there and supercharge it for a solid 425whp, stock street manners and stock gas mileage (when keeping your foot out of it). I would go the latter route actually and I wish I had when I was younger and did a completely unnecessary rebuild on a low mileage 95 Cobra instead of just S-trimming it. Made a respectable 300+whp, would have made 450 with the Supercharger...

Lol...116 octane is not a street car. A top fuel dragster can be driven on the street...

Op. Heads/cam/s trim will give you a very enjoyable car without breaking the bank.

Lol! I think what Scotty is talking about is what we base a true "street car" off of. Usually running race gas and not pump gas, narrowed rear ends, mini tubs, anything wider than a 12.5 inch tire isn't and couldn't be a daily driver.

Back to the op..... I would agree with what others have said. The stock block can only take so much. If it were me, I'd go with a good set of gt40 or gt40p heads, an explorer intake, other supporting bolt ons and a supercharger. That will give you plenty for the street and enough capability to grow past the limits of the stock block.

So you don't even run it? You don't got any time slips or nothing?
