347 vs 351

I have a 94 5.0 crane cam rpm intake and other little mods. Id it worth building a 347 331 or 351. About how much money will need to be shelled out. And the simplicity of building and swaping each motor.

347 and 331 r stroked 302...so either stroke ur 5.0 which can b pricey or buy the striker motor but a 347 is limit....a 351 can be found cheap and have plenty of room to grow...like stroked to 400something...base 351 imo....

When you are looking at strokers if you don't do a 351 based one for any other reason besides a class restriction you are throwing money away. The extra cost to build a 408 stroker over a 347 stroker is very little and the 347 isn't even in the same universe as the 408 as far as capability and power. Also with the 347 you'll be limited to about 450-500whp, the 351 block is good for over 700whp.

Scotty gets so excited with threads like these.. I think he just has a thing for them 408s lol.

But seriously, he said it right. If you're going to build a stroker, build a 351. Just about the same cost, an enough power to make your balls drop again.
