If it's a true 5.0 car that's an 86 and up you should have a factory 8.8. They come with limited slip differentials. A true posi rear is a beast to drive on regular roads especially if you have a daily driver.... Makes turns a bit more of a challenge. It's basically a clutch pack in the diff that distributes the power.... You can get a good clutch pack that makes the tolerances real tight to where it's almost like a posi but still has great street characteristics.

As this was posted in the 5.0 fox and new edge thread, I assumed poster was talking about a 5.0 car.

This would also mean a 8.8

That car was most likely a 4 banger car that got converted to 5.0 but not rearend. Like they say all true 5.0 cars were 8.8 LSD. I'm on my 6th fox build

You've got a 23-24 yr old car there, most everything will need to be replaced by this time including the diff, shocks, springs, brake lines, interior, paint, you name it. Well everything that is original anyway.

Rear end rebuilt, new shocks springs spring isolators and control arms. Replace all rubber bushings. Rebuild T5. Replace clutch and flywheel. Repair "gangsta lean" driver seat. Replace gauge face cover. ***** and so much more. I still love my Foxes. So easy to work on.
