Mass air flow issue- need help

I have an 89 gt, I have changed 3 maf sensors and everything leading up to it. My car idles up and down and occasionally bucks. I unplugged the maf and it ran but there was no power. Any suggestions on where I should start looking ??

I will check that but do you think that would be a reason on why the maf keeps shorting out ?

No I didn't realize it was burning mas up.yes it sounds like it is electrical or if water is getting past filter.would think it would get fuse before mas

Or if you have a paper filter they are known to cause problems

Yea, I'm in hamburg-op area and finding a person to look at it and not hit me up in fees has been difficult. And a good mechanic is hard to find apparently
