Radiator overflow question?

I recently noticed after my 5.0 cooled off the upper radiator hose is collapsed. I dug in to my system and found the nipple coming off the radiator fill neck was never punched out. I looked at recipes from the past owner and had the radiator replaced by ford. Is it possible the same radiator is used in other cars besides the mustang that don't require over flow bottle? Anyway I drilled the hole out change my coolant and got a stant cap and it works like a beauty now.

Not aware of any car made in the last twenty + year without an overflow tank. Mechanic had his head under his arm and you fixed his screwup.
