Exhaust?

Alright so my 85 gt has wat look like old school factory headers and had the dump cut off. It's like a 3 inch opening. My question is would that cause it to be so loud? I can be heard from quite a distance, over a mile on a quiet night. Has a mild cam an sum head work nothin fancy or atleast that's wat I was told.

Definitely! If you put tail pipes on it it will make a big difference.

So pretty much the way my exhaust is set up is the reason it sounds like it does? I only ask cuz I might be trading and I've had plenty of mustangs but non that sound like this. I've team headman hooker an bbk headers to dumps an never got the same sound. Had me questioning wat may have been done to the motor, feel likes a 306 but sounds like a stroker

Yes, a buddy of mine had the same set up, flowmaster two chambers under the car, no turn downs and it was super loud. The sound just rolls under the car and that's why it's so loud. Even with turn downs it aims at the ground so it's not as bad.
