convertible top issues

Looked around haven't found info yet on the following issue. Top won't go up or down everything is good relays power switch fuzes everything checks out good. But if I short the switch it works. ( accidental find ). I've trouble shot everything I'm about to jump wire the motor to check it. Any suggestions?

Could it, possibly be the switch itself?

Confusing why when you "short it" the switch works...

I recently had a strange thing like this happen on my truck.
It wouldn't start one day and it was obvious that the fuel pumps,(it has 2 fuel tanks and 2 fuel pumps) weren't working.
Like you I went through everything. It all checked out good. I never thought about the switch that changes the tanks. (Really just turns the pumps on and off) sure enough, the only thing that I was overlooking, was the problem... Bad switch.

Good luck!

Does your car have daytime running lights? I had the same problem because mines from Canada an has a day time running light module shared with the convertible top. Look in front of your front drive side wheel well and there may be a little black box under the horn with a harness in it. This was the source of my headache hope you can find yours. Good luck

Got it. The p brake switch and very switch were busted. Both test good until power applied. So a 5 buck pep boys rocker and homemade connector. Good as new.
