Gears 3.73 or 4.10 for stock t5

Well like the post says it about gears and well was thinking of upgrading the gears, what would be best for 90 mustang with stock t-5 , 3.73s or 4.10s the only reason I'm considering 4.10s cause a buddy selling me his and their new from am and he's asking $100 with 2 qts or royal purple.

I have had 4.10s and loved them. I would imagine that 3.73s would be nice over stock as well. When spring comes I'm going 4.10s and ditching my 3.27s . Although I'm sure to miss the mpg.

I have 3:73 and around town they are perfect. I only use 1st and 2nd to get to 50kmh. I pull on the normal traffic pretty good. Switching lanes is not an issue. Fuel mileage is good in town. If you have to hiway drive its not too bad.

My recommendation is 4.10s just for auto and 3.73 for T5.

Well their isn't really a lot of highways where I live mostly when I go to work the high speed I would go maybe 50 mph in town and work is like 8 miles and only when I head to the track on Sundays like 20 miles the longest

410 is steep for highway...at 70mph its around 2500 rpms....but for $100 you can't go wrong...which 1st gear ratio is in your t5??? Reason I ask,1st gear will be like a granny gear in a truck...

Oh ok well sounds like I might get them 4.10s and well when I bought the car they said it had a 93 cobra Trans but not sure I think it's just a regular t5 from a 90 mustang lx 5.0 cause that's what car originally is not a real gt. And 351stroker I love them just need to get new lenses also

Oh but that your h/c/I combo will be a nice combo with the 410s...hopefully you have the 295 1st gear so its not too steep but you'll love the gear either way...have you ever driven a 5.0 with 410s??? Be prepared for a completely different and fun ride....

Bet its a head gasket then. I always re torque my heads after a change. Maybe it wasnt done or the car sat too ling and the gasket dried up and cracked.

That isn't a comparison...lol trust me you'll be pushed back in your seat in 1st n 2nd gear easy if you hook...also what's nice about the 373or 410 is you won't have to downshift to pass somebody anymore...you can cruise in 5th at 45mph and it will pick up quickly still...

1-Steeda subframes are better than the MM ones, one of the few things suspension related I do not suggest MM for.

2-Nitto 555Rs are AMAZING street tires but they DO run a little narrow for the size. Expect them to last around 15k miles at most and if you are going to be driving in icy conditions or potentially icy/freezing conditions they are not the best choice.

3-Whoever said you need another gear at 60mph, not really, you're only doing around 2100 or so. I know its not that sweet 1800rpm cruise that you get with stock gears but its not bad at all. Or just get an Astro T5 with the .59 fifth gear lol. Little pricey...

4-Don't need upper control arms unless yours are shot and then stock replacements are the best. For LCAs go MM or Steeda. MM are tubular and Steeda are fully boxed. I've had both, both are great.
