Posi locker questions? Please help!

Hey guys, I'm going to be doing my 4:10's soon and need a new posi. I'm positive mines shot because only one wheel really lays down rubber during burnous. I originally wanted an eaton but have heard real bad things about them exploding. My second choice was the auburn. Or should I just save some cash and rebuild my stock one. I plan to also do HCI and control arms and nitto's in the back. I need a reliable posi that can be used as a dd everyday and not blow up at the track!

I have an Auburn and it works well. I believe that you will have to upgrade to 31 spline axles when you switch to an aftermarket posi. Your cheapest option will be to rebuild your original though. Throw in some Ford racing kevlar clutches and it should be good as new...

With the upgraded clutches and tightened, up, it'll have no problem turning both at the track and still give you excellency dd characteristics. I had one of mine done that way and it held up to 10 sec passes on a nitrous car for years.

Yea, it would save me a ton of money to rebuild the stock locker, is the American muscle ford racing traction loc rebuild with carbon disks any good, if not where can I get the Kevlar clutches like you said? I can't see paying 450 for a posi then 225 for new axels than 255 for the 4:10's. My car came with 3:73's uninstalled still in box but they are the wrong size gear for my automatic with the 2,500 stall converter I have
