The question was not with price of car if course I paid more it's at least 10 years newer but mod for mod you can keep up with the 4v

Well that's what I meant the price of the car plus what the mods cost and iv never raced a full bolt on one just one with a cai 4:10 and a tune and slicks an had him by a car

I would routinely beat up on 2Vs with my bolt on Fox but I sold it right when the Machs/Termis came out so I never got to race one in it. I might have been able to keep up with a Mach, obviously not a Termi unless the driver sucked. Remember this was back in 2001/2002 when the 2V was still being sort of figured out by the masses and you still go the "oh its a 4.6? too bad...". Hell I STILL get that lol.

Oh yea I still have people who come up and ask me if I got a 5.0 in there, when I reply na they went to a 4.6 from 97-2010, they look at me confused, like I'm the one who doesn't know what there talking about

Except it was 96-2010.

I'd build an push rod 302 over a 4.6 any day. The mods are relatively simple, it's a fun project, parts are cheap and literally available on every Craigslist! The sound of a cat less 5.0 with flowmasters or magnaflow is amazing. The only thing I really hate about them is the interior. Reminds me on my dad's ford tempo when I was a kid. That said, another fun mod is 94-04 interior swap!

Seen it tried a few times, getting all the panels to line up is a nightmare/requires a LOT of custom modding and honestly doesn't look right. If you want a 5.0 with the SN95 interior buy a 94/95 car. Both the pushrod and modular have their pros and cons honestly. IMO if you are doing a NA build go pushrod. If forced induction go modular.

I've never been in a fox how do they respond to boost? By your post I assume it's better to boost a 4.6??

On average and to sum it up, you can build a NA pushrod for potentially more power and cheaper than a NA modular. But put a blower on a stock modular, and it has the potential make more power than a stock pushrod. Of course there are alot of varibles to be taken into consideration. Hence why I said on average. But I know SOMEBODY will disagree with me......lol

This is the best photo I can find right now of a swap, but I remember reading a mustang monthly edition with a guy who had a Mystichrome cobra and bought a second one that was totalled and swap everything in a 93 fox body he had. He painted it Mystichrome too. It look incredible. The 5 star cobra chrome rims, the matched Mystichrome centred cobra seats. Everything.

I think I remember that article too. The dash actually will almost fit. Those door panels are custom, and there is a TON of things that need to be tweaked, but I've always liked the finished product. I'd love to swap an SN95 dash in my Fox!
