EGR sticking open will make your car have similar symptoms.

Sounds like a simple case of old gas. How long has it sat before you got it?

Well you were just on asking what could happen when the battery cables are put on backwards well you could have some burnt wiring I'd check some of the grounds and other wiring and is there any mods done to it we really need to know more to be able to help better

It has a after market air filter and a MSD distributor and i think thats it. i also did get it to start with a key i had to take out all the viper alarm system which was a pain in the ***. I also havent filled the tank up since i got it but the guy before me said he filled it up a few times the week i bought it. Im going to try new spark plugs and ill check the EGR valve any other advise?

Easiest to replace it.if you do take it off you need to plug it but it has no hp loss/gain.helps with gas mpg also
