351 purchase?

M thinking of buying a 351. It came out of a f-150 87. Would it be worth buying? What are some pros of switching to a 351?

It's a always been a dream of mine to put a 351W in a Fox. It's a pretty common swap. If it's the right price I'd go for it.

The Windsor is the small block, so not to many issues with the swap.

Wish I could help more but keep us posted if you decide to pull the pin.

I do know that you can bore/stroke all the way to 427 with the stock block.

$250 a good price? Says it was running before he took it out. But I want to rebuild

$250's not bad, but I never pay full asking price. Lol. If your going to go through and rebuild, I personally would jump on it. If your wondering if he is reasonable on his price you could call some salvage yards in your area and see what they are going for.

What kind if budget do you have, what are your plans for the motor. A rebuild and swap or a full build.

Don't get an 80s 351w.

Get a F4 (1994) or newer roller block.

Roller ready. Per 94 is not unless you use linkbar lifters and if you do that then look for a 74-older block with the higher nickel content. 69/70 blocks are the strongest of all the OEM 351 Windsors.

Stick with the windsors. Take a look at the Liberator shortblocks at www.fordstrokers.com

He does amazing work and all his 351 blocks are inspected for any issues.
