Egr Valve Position sensor

Just pulled off my egr valve and the position sensor as well(bolted onto the egr valve) and the connectors on the pins in the position sensor(not the wired connector on the engine) has some white thick pasty substance on it. Any ideas?

Prob dielectric grease. Commonly used to lube pins and keep moisture out of the plug and connector.

Like 87lx306 said it's to keep moisture out so I'd go get some and dab it on...
