A lot will. Foxbodies have been swapped with turbo 4 and 6 cylinders, big block ford, and chevy, Lsx motors, stroked 302's 351's, 390's....... the list goes on and on. More importantly, what kind of power/budget are you thinking? That would help narrow it down.

$2,000 on a motor build maybe. I'm just trying to figure out if I should build my 5.0 motor or buy a bigger motor.

Buy a good running pullout from a 96-99 Explorer, swap out the cam with a good GT cam, swap the springs with some new TFS springs, drop it in and run that.

$2k is enough for a basic rebuild and the google will tell you that pretty much any motor can go into a mustang.

+1 on the explorer build.

It'll pretty much be the easiest and best bang for your buck.

And if you want MOAR POWAR save up for a Vortech and you'll have more fun than you can handle making clouds in deserted parking lots all day...

Edit: I would also switch from speed density to MAF while your at it...

Yeah, places sell kits to convert to mass air. Much easier to tune.
