Texas reg on losing the mufflers

I wanna take out my mufflers and do straight cat back pipes for more sound. is this legal to do in emissions required counties in Texas? Or is there anything else I can do and keep my tail pipes visible?

Depends on what city some city's do emissions some don't...the ones that do your pipes have to be behind the passenger area

Just look into an aftermarket catback... Straight pipes sound like crap imo... And they aren't really all that much louder. A set of flow master 10 series will be loud...

Yea I have to keep the mufflers. I knew better than that. Dumb question but I need a plan. I'll look into different brands like you said. They look good but not as loud as I would like. I know id like dumps but my tail pipes are pretty lol ...women lol

I wouldn't recommend not having mufflers. You'll lose to much back pressure and could cause a CEL. and if you dont want to lose all your take off I wouldn't suggest it anyway. If you want loud I'd do flowmasters supper 44. Awesome sound!! But with most flowmasters you will get a drone inside the car. I actually like the drone so I always run supper 44. I personally do not like sound of magnaflow, SLP or bassani. I'm very particular in what I like tho.
