New 8.8 :)

Found a friend of a friend selling his 8.8 out of his 88' with 3.55 gears. He upgraded to 5 lug and disc, so hes selling the whole thing drum to drum for 140. I'm going to go look at it tomorrow, and make sure it is what he says it is. Although I trust my friend, you can never be too careful. Do you guys have any suggestions on anything I should look for?

Also getting some MM lower control arms to put on with the install. Pretty stoked to see how she runs with my current setup!

I would spin the greas both ways to see how freely it spins and to make sure you dont hear anything moving around in there. I'd pull the diff cover and visually inspect it also. Look for abnormal wear. Watch some YouTube videos so you can actually see what your looking for. That's an awesome deal of it all checks out tho!

Went and looked at it today. It was the real deal. Took the cover off and everything checked out, so I bought it. Can't wait to install it!

Congrats on the upgrade! One thing you may want to check is the length of the rear housing. I always thought the Foxbody 8.8's were .5 to .75" shorter than the 94-04 8.8's. Don't count that as factual, but it's something you may want to double check. As it will change where your rear wheels stand.

Wish you the best!

Shane

Thanks for the heads up! It came out of an 88' Fox, and its going in my 90' Fox, so it should fit perfectly; but I will double check

Btw Shane, do you guys sell the spherical bushings for UCA's?

Roguestang,

Gotcha, my mistake. I thought you were installing the rear into your 2000 GT for some reason. Since you're swapping it to a 1990 Fox, I wouldn't anticipate any issues.

We stopped carrying the separate spherical bushings, since we didn't find too many customers interested in them. However, we do carry some top notch adjustable UCA's that come fitted with spherical bushings. AJE, is my favorite brand to go for suspension on 79-04 Mustangs. It's hard to beat their quality and performance. They've been in the suspension game for a long time!

Hope this still works for you!

Shane
