So I am rebuilding my 5.0 and before the build I was thinking I needed a new fuel pump due to bogging down. So now my build is almost done and I've been looking at the bbk 255 lph pump or even the 190 lph? It's a 5.0 with full bolt ons, ported cobra intake, b303 cam, ported gt40p heads, 24lb injectors ..Since I think I need a new fuel pump should I just put a bigger one in while I'm at it ?
Yes you need a new pump. The 190 will be plenty but I always like to opt for the 255. Just so I'll never have to change it no matter what upgrade I install. Your stock pump won't feed that engine very well and it will flat starve it in the higher RPM's
If its a stock pump the 88lph pump they came with is barely enough for it stock. Always a good upgrade.
