Updating the interior

Does anyone know if it is possible to update the interior in my 1995 mustang? It still has the stock stuff in it and I was hoping to completely change it to make it look more up to date.

94-04 interiors are all compatible with each other as far as fit with a few gotchas but nothing serious. 94-98 colors and 99-04 colors are not the same tho so you will need to paint or just pull from your years. If you are talking about updating to an 05-up interior... well anything can be done with enough money I guess...

My 98 came with a ratted out grey/black two tone interior. New carpet/new upholstery and an original black interior out of a V6 parts car and it looks near new although functionally its the same.

No I mean like the dash/radio/center console type things. I just don't like the old look to it. And could I change the color of the lights behind the speedometer and everything?

Yeah you can pull the cluster and the hvac controls and swap the bulbs. To make them blue you just put in white LEDs. WLED-5 from sueprbrightleds.com is the right one for that.

As far as everything else, you can put a touchscreen in, you can put aftermarket gauges in but if you don't like the look then sell it and buy something else honestly.

I think a tablet is to big to be totally honest. Do the double DIN swap if you don't have it and throw a good touchscreen unit in there with BT to link to your phone IMHO.

As for the bulbs, yes there are 5 LEDs in the cluster and 2 in the HVAC. WLED-5 on superbrightleds.com is the bulb you want.

There really isn't a super lot you can do really though. Cluster update with a newer one or a Florida 5.0 one, the Florida 5.0 clock pod replacer if you have a hole for one (or cut a hole if you don't), better seats, LED domelight/reading lights and if you are good you can solder LEDs into all the switches too.

I mean the newest one of these cars is now 10 years old and the design is from the early 90s at the height of the jelly bean era for a production run starting in 1993. I think we are lucky it has aged as well as it has and that there really aren't any issues with warping panels, cracking dashes or anything like that. The interior in my 98 is swapped with one out of a 95 V6 and with new carpet, new upholstery and some detailing it looks about as new as one of these interiors can.
