Finally got around to installing the UPR boostmaster pipe for my Vortech Fox. I picked it up for 99 bucks at the NMRA show in Bradenton a few weeks back. I also installed a Bosch diverter valve (bov) even though my kit was only pushing 4 psi, because I'll be upgrading in the future. Took me a few hours to cut a bigger hole, and reconfigure the plumbing.
I didn't want to spend the money on a vortech down pipe made to accept a bov, so I took the one that came with my kit and drilled a hole and used some high temp pcv with rubber O-rings to seal it up (see pictures). Saved me 150 bucks right there....
I didn't cut the maf wiring, I just sliced the plastic protector and pulled the maf wires out and routed them a different way. Then I wrapped them with new tape and a new plastic protector.
So I get it all together, and take it for a test drive. Remember, I'm only pushing 4 psi with the stock kit. So I get to a safe area, and punch it. At 5.5k rpms I had 7 psi! Can't believe that piece of plastic made that much of a difference. My only regret is I didn't do it sooner
I totally recommend anyone with the basic V3 sci kit to install a bov. I'm convinced it runs a lot smoother since it doesn't have the air turbulance in the down pipe anymore.
