Yea you might be right, this was his winter beater before it was mine so I'm assuming he didn't put to much into it. Also my car was on a hill when this pi was taken if that makes a different

Like I said, yours is not as bad as some of the "wall of shame" cars over on HIDplanet but as I said before until someone figures out how to make a HID in a reflector housing have the correct cutoff and stepdown its not ok. And as I said there are a lot of options out there to do it the right way so I'm not sure why ppl keep insisting on doing it half assed and making themselves a danger to others (and themselves).

Didn't say anywhere if they use an OEM style quartz glass for their bulbs and you'd want to head over to HIDplanet for reviews on these guys anyway. Also 8000k is going to be a very low vis kelvin range. 4300 is OEM, 5k is "pure white", 6k is "white with a hint of blue" and at 6k you're already drastically dropping in your overall brightness At 8k your overall lumen output is well under an OEM halogen.

Also, as I mentioned before, unless you are putting your HIDs into a projector housing you are a DANGER on the road to yourself and others. Please don't be one of those ppl who blinds oncoming traffic and lowers their own visibility because they are trying to look cool.

Philips Xtreme Power or Osram Silverstar halogen bulbs. Do not get the Sylvania Silverstars, they are not the same thing and are not nearly as bright as either of the two I listed.

Look it up on google/youtube. You basically toss them in the oven on low heat and then just pry the lenses off with a flathead afterwards. Do them one at a time so the second one doesn't have a chance to cool off and harden back up while you are working on the first one.

Yeah you can buy the cheapo ones from anywhere. They are that price for a reason. Non-quartz glass bulbs and not laser aligned on the bases. Also 0 quality control and your ballast may or may not be putting out the rated watts.

Depends if they work or not. Pretty much all of the cheap kits use the exact same everything, it just depends who you get them from. I'd rather pay the $85 I paid for a high end kit with high end service/support. Also my HIDs are yoga balls brighter than any other kit I've seen besides an OEM.

Gimmicks, they are dimmer than a stock bulb. They just look brighter at first because they are white. You want OSRAM Silverstars or Philips Xtreme bulbs.
