Timing issue when car is warmed up

My friends 91GT has been popping out of time. Apparently it drives fine when the car is cold. But after a while of driving it, it starts to idle out of whack and turns off. Hes taken it to a couple mechanics who changed the distributor and fixed it shortly. But after he gets a little throttle happy. The car will start doing the same thing.. Can anyone please help! I tell him theres nothing better than fixing the problem on your own but we need a good starting point on what it may be.. Any help will be appreciated, thanks!

I don't know if when they changed the distributor, if they changed the ignition module also, but that's what was wrong with mine when it was acting like that.

If you haven't done it, replace the ignition module.

That is a good place to look.

Also run the codes as that is free.

Also try searching for vacuum leaks.
