Rereading what you originally posted... that doesn't sound like a ground problem .

As far as a bad wire that could be any place but I have a complete list and diagram of most the ground locations for an 89 if you want them?

Could. Take the line off the top and see if there's any gas in it. Check the iac for the idling problem. That's what I'd do first. Make sure it's not all clogged up with carbon and ****. Replace that if necessary, that should help. Then I'd check the tps voltage and make sure it's around .97-.98.

The iac is brand new and do you check the hose while running hot or when it's off?

Okay so the other day I pulled my car in the garage running fine and let it sit for a day and then that night I took off my 1" phenolic spacer because I thought it could be a vacuum leak put the intake back on the lower with gasket bolted it down and now the car doesn't want to run! Like it backfires and will fire 1 cylinder every like 4 seconds and smells like a ton of gas! Then I swapped distributor and it didn't change anything!
